Our Rating
A well-rounded mid-range tablet with S Pen included, 7 years of OS support, solid battery life and Samsung DeX. Performance lags behind iPad at this price, but the software ecosystem and S Pen make it compelling for productivity and creative work.

What Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE?

Released on 3 April 2025, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is the latest Fan Edition tablet in Samsung's flagship Galaxy Tab S line. It brings a 10.9-inch IPS LCD display, the S Pen stylus included in the box, Android 15 with One UI 7, and a promise of 7 years of OS and security updates — making it one of the most future-proofed Android tablets available.

The "Fan Edition" positions it between Samsung's budget A-series tablets and the premium Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra, delivering flagship-level software and stylus support at a more accessible price point.

Display — 10.9-inch IPS LCD, 90Hz

The Tab S10 FE features a 10.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 1440 × 2304 resolution (approximately 245 ppi) and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is bright, colour-accurate and comfortable for long reading or viewing sessions. While it lacks the AMOLED panels found on the Tab S10+ and Ultra, the IPS display has no PWM flickering — a genuine advantage for users sensitive to screen flicker.

The 90Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and S Pen writing feel smooth and responsive, even if it stops short of the 120Hz offered by the premium models.

Performance — Exynos 1580, 8GB RAM

Powering the Tab S10 FE is Samsung's own Exynos 1580 processor — a 4nm octa-core chip that also powers the Galaxy A56. It delivers solid performance for everyday tasks: web browsing, social media, streaming, video calls, document editing and light creative work. For the vast majority of users, it runs everything smoothly.

Where the Exynos 1580 shows its limitations is in sustained heavy workloads — 3D gaming, video rendering, and running multiple demanding apps simultaneously can cause performance throttling. For professional-grade tablet performance, the iPad Air (Apple M2/M3) and the Tab S10 Ultra (MediaTek Dimensity 9300+) remain ahead.

S Pen Included — A Key Differentiator

The S Pen is included in the box — a significant advantage over competing Android tablets and even the base iPad. The S Pen has a 4,096-level pressure sensitivity and attaches magnetically to the tablet for storage and wireless charging. It is ideal for note-taking, sketching, annotating PDFs and precision navigation through Samsung's interface.

Paired with Samsung Notes, the S Pen creates a genuinely useful productivity tool. Students and professionals who frequently annotate documents or take handwritten notes will find this pairing hard to beat in the Android ecosystem.

Battery — 8,000 mAh, Full Day+

The Tab S10 FE houses a 8,000 mAh battery that comfortably lasts a full working day under mixed use — and often extends into a second day for lighter users. Samsung rates it for up to 16 hours of video playback. Charging via USB-C at 45W (charger sold separately) brings the tablet from 0 to 100% in approximately 80–90 minutes.

Camera — 13MP Rear, 12MP Ultrawide Front

The rear camera is a single 13MP wide sensor — adequate for document scanning, whiteboard capture and casual photography. The 12MP ultrawide front camera is the more impressive spec: it is excellent for video calls, supporting 4K at 30fps for crystal-clear video conferencing.

Samsung DeX — Laptop Mode

Connect the Tab S10 FE to a monitor via USB-C and it switches into Samsung DeX mode — a full desktop-like interface with resizable windows, a taskbar and keyboard/mouse support. For business users who want to use a single device as both a tablet and a lightweight desktop, DeX significantly extends the utility of the Tab S10 FE.

7 Years of Updates — Future-Proofed

Samsung commits to 7 years of OS upgrades and security patches for the Tab S10 FE — the same commitment as Google's Pixel 9 series. This means a tablet purchased today should receive Android updates through to approximately 2032, making it one of the most future-proofed Android tablets on the market.

IP68 — Dust and Water Resistant

The Tab S10 FE carries an IP68 rating, meaning it is protected against dust and can survive submersion in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for 30 minutes. This level of protection is unusual in mid-range tablets and makes the device genuinely more durable for daily use.

Tab S10 FE vs iPad Air (2024) — Which Should You Buy?

The iPad Air is significantly faster and has a better display, but costs more and lacks a stylus in the box (Apple Pencil costs extra). The Galaxy Tab S10 FE wins on value when you factor in the included S Pen, 7-year update promise, Samsung DeX, IP68, expandable storage and 5G option. For Android users and S Pen enthusiasts, the Tab S10 FE is the stronger choice.

Our Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is one of the best value productivity tablets in the Android ecosystem in 2025. The combination of S Pen included, 7-year update commitment, IP68, Samsung DeX and a solid 8,000 mAh battery covers everything most users need. Performance is not class-leading — the Exynos 1580 is a capable mid-range chip, not a powerhouse — but for students, professionals and everyday users, the Tab S10 FE delivers tremendous value.
